Proposed Fairfax County redistricting maps explained:
In June 2021, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors appointed a 20-member Redistricting Advisory Committee to recommend new electoral maps that will affect the makeup of the Board of Supervisors, school board, and Fairfax County planning commission. The committee released a 400-page report in early November. To help neighbors better understand the contents of the report, HRACA has compiled a 64-page excerpt designed for printing and reading on mobile devices. The Civic Association and the Providence District Council - an umbrella organization of local civic associations - will be speaking on behalf of the Acres, and Woodburn precinct, remaining in the Providence District at a November 9 public hearing. Fairfax County encourages residents to submit input or comments on these plans before the hearing, as well as provide testimony on Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center. Submit input by email, mail, video or phone, or sign up to speak at the public hearing. PROPOSED PLANS Of the 64 proposed electoral maps, 24 were submitted by the committee, and 40 were proposed by the public. The committee’s redistricting plans included:
Currently, there are nine Board of Supervisors and School Board election districts. By state law, Fairfax County may have as few as five electoral districts or as many as 11. Select Saturdays are scheduled work days. There will be no work on Christmas Day.

In January 2020, the Board of the Holmes Run Acres Civic Association (HRACA) established the Holmes Run Acres Community Survey Committee. Its purpose was to conduct a survey of all adult Holmes Run Acres residents to gather some basic demographic information about the community and to obtain information about the areas of concerns for the community in order to establish some priorities for the Board of the HRACA to address. By the end of October 2020, a total of 273 responses were received with an estimated response rate of 38.9%. At the beginning of 2021 the survey responses were compiled and a summary report was created to present the results.
