In January 2020, the Board of the Holmes Run Acres Civic Association (HRACA) established the Holmes Run Acres Community Survey Committee. Its purpose was to conduct a survey of all adult Holmes Run Acres residents to gather some basic demographic information about the community and to obtain information about the areas of concerns for the community in order to establish some priorities for the Board of the HRACA to address. By the end of October 2020, a total of 273 responses were received with an estimated response rate of 38.9%. At the beginning of 2021 the survey responses were compiled and a summary report was created to present the results.
View the report here. On Monday, March 22, 2021 at 6:30PM, the Holmes Run Acres Historic Overlay District (HOD) Community Meeting was held virtually via WebEx. Nicole Brannan, Fairfax County Heritage Staff in charge of this project, reports that around 40 folks attended at the time of the WebEx meeting (plus Fairfax County staff. Supervisor Palchik also attended briefly), and 59 viewings have happened since the video was posted. The video is available online: search HRA HOD Community Meeting on fairfaxcounty.gov website.
At this time, Nicole is still preparing the Question and Answers from the Community Meeting, and we will post them here when she forwards them to us. Learn more about the HOD here: https://www.holmesrunacres.com/historic-overlay-district-hod.html LURIA PARK STREAM CLEANUP

Saturday, April 3, 10 am - 12 pm Hi there. What a crazy weather week! Hopefully the sun is out to stay and everyone is ready to have a little fun tomorrow morning. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their yard and/or to help with egg hiding, we really appreciate it! As a reminder, here are the details for tomorrow's egg hunt. Eggs will be hidden throughout the neighborhood and in and around Luria Park in order to spread people out and keep safe distancing. Inside each egg is a 'ticket' which can be redeemed for prizes at 7805 Holmes Run Drive. There will be plenty of eggcellent photo opps there, too, to brighten the day even more. Below is a map that highlights some of the areas where you can be sure to find eggs, but keep an eye out everywhere along the way! Please be mindful and not walk on or through people's yards - eggs will be hidden close to the street. There will also be chalk markings all around to make sure your little bunnies don't miss out! The hunting will start at 10 am and you can visit 'headquarters' to snag prizes and feel festive until 12 pm. |
