ABOUT HOLMES RUN ACRES
Holmes Run Acres is a woodsy oasis inside the Capital Beltway that features mid-century modern architecture and a strong sense of community.
When the first homes were built here in 1951, the modern architecture was a radical departure from the typical colonial and ranch houses that dominated the post-war building boom in the Washington area. Holmes Run Acres houses were unique not only for the open floor plans and extensive use of glass and exposed wood, but also for the way they were integrated into the landscape.
Today's residents love living in Holmes Run Acres because of its distinctive architecture, natural beauty and friendly neighbors.
